Letting go II in verse and images

All the art of living lies in a fine mingling of letting go and holding on.
~Havelock Ellis Sunday

Maybe part of loving is learning to let go.
~From the television show The Wonder

Giving up doesn't always mean you are weak;
sometimes it means that you are strong enough to let go.
Author unknown

There are things that we don't want to happen but have to accept,
things we don't want to know but have to learn,
and people we can't live without but have to let go.
~Author Unknown

The one about giving up is so true. Sometimes it takes real strength to know that something needs to be dropped. I tend to be too involved and then it is even harder to back out of something. I'm learning, though.

I also love the giving up quote. Sometimes it really is hard to let go - it brings you out of your comfort zone.

I am on a computer fast this weekend, starting in 5 mins (after this!), but I had to pop in and say - freefalling...that is what I could see. You've been up in that airplane, thinking where are we going? It's your turn to jump (is that parachute going to work?), first the feeling of fear, uncertainty, then the freedom when you let go the sides of the plane door, the thrill as you go and then freefall - the Lord is your parachute, he is constant. Yay - I do so sense those new things, it's huge!!

The quotes are beautiful. I often wonder, when people make a quote that is so memorable, is it because they have thought and thought and come up with it or is it because a "light went on" in them and they just come out with things so profound ! Like ... they really really get it ! I read quotes and think, I wish I could really really get what they are saying too.

I have been thinking a lot lately of Jesus saying let this cup pass from me. The weakness that He knew was there in the flesh and yet He was unwilling to be limited by it. So He allowed for Gods strength when He said- Your will be done.
Unwilling to give into the weakness of flesh because He knew we were depending on Him.
So if we know that what we are getting ready to go through will in the end be necessary for someone else--will we also go there?
Thy will be done?

I wish I'd written that poem. So much truth captured there.
Hope all is okay with you, I know you're having a tough time so thoughts are with you.
